This article explains how to use Scorecards.

What is a Scorecard in Wovex ?

With Wovex you can create Scorecard Measures and 'roll-up' data from other Benefit Measures to them for reporting.

Basically, this is like creating a number of buckets to throw the forecasts, actuals and variances in from across a number of models/programs.

Helping to understand, in one place, what is happening across them for a specific area of Benefit Measurement e.g CO2 emission reduction (CO2 tonnes saved).

Two Scorecards

There are two scorecards for use: Corporate and Alternative.

Corporate: It is recommended to use the Corporate Scorecard as the Organization's main Scorecard for performance reporting.

Alternative: Alternative Scorecards can be set-up for other areas e.g. for each Business Unit. This enables each Benefit Measure to be reported in two different Scorecards.

Steps to Use

There are a number of steps to use Scorecards:

1. CREATE IT:

Create a hierarchy of Scorecard Measures e.g. you may be interested in: CO2 tonnes saved, so create a Scorecard Measure for that.  e.g. https://www.screencast.com/t/qEptTQjeU6

Note: At the top-level of the Scorecard, give your scorecard a name. Then below it start to add the 'buckets' in which to gather information into. The top-level scorecard name does not collect any data, it is the categories/below that do. Linking Benefit Measures to the top-level scorecard name will mean the data from those measures will not be included.

If you want, you can collect data not at that level but beneath it e.g. as CO2 tonnes saved (US), CO2 tonnes saved (Europe),
     CO2 tonnes saved (Asia).

You have one Scorecard Measure: CO2 tonnes saved, and three 'buckets' to collect data in, beneath it.

Where: Manage Corporate Scorecard/Manage Alternative Scorecard. Choose 'New' to add and 'Sub-Group' to add more below.

Hint: See the hierarchy all in one place by looking at: View Corporate Scorecard/View Alternative Scorecard.

2. LINK MEASURES:

Find the Benefit Measures whose data you want to 'throw into the buckets'. Don't restrict yourself to just one Model, you can connect Benefit Measures from any number of Models.

For example, you may have 20 Programs, each with a Benefit Measure that relates to CO2 tonnes saved in Europe.

Link each of these to the appropriate 'bucket' - e.g. to CO2 tonnes saved in Europe.

Where: Edit Benefit Measures and use the pull-down lists in the Corporate or Alternative Scorecard fields to select the 'buckets' from...

      or
In the Desktop: need to download them first with File --> Cloud --> Manage Data --> 4. Get Corporate Categories...
                or 5. Get Alternative Categories...
then Data tab/Edit Data and Upload the data with File --> Cloud --> Manage Data --> 1. Share & Sync Objects...

These Benefit Measures will have Forecasts and Actuals added, Variances calculated as part of normal usage.

3. CONTROL PERMISSIONS:

Give permission for the Models with the data in and the users to see the data in Reports.  e.g. https://www.screencast.com/t/9R0cY51k4r8

You likely don't want data to be added from some models, for example, they may just be starting on the data/Benefit Measures haven't been agreed.

Also, you may not want some users to see the data in the reports e.g. a temporary employee or those who do not need to know it.

Add the Models and users to be included/have access to the data.

Where: Manage Corporate Scorecard/Manage Alternative Scorecard.  Choose 'Allowed Users' to change allowed Models and users.

4. BRING UP-TO-DATE:

Enable the latest data to be collected/user permissions to be applied. e.g. https://www.screencast.com/t/CCJvBuIO

Wovex doesn't dynamically update the Scorecards with data, we recognize that you may want to manually control the scorecard updates e.g. do weekly or monthly.
Updating and applying changes is easy.

   Where:

Manage Corporate Scorecard/Manage Alternative Scorecard.

Choose 'Update Scorecard' to create the Scorecard Measures/buckets, collect permitted and linked data and apply any changed user permissions.

Hint: Super Users/Administrators can hide Scorecards menus/options from users by removing them from a users roles.
           (Settings --> Access --> Roles).

5. SEE REPORTS: Two types of reports for Scorecards.

    5.1. ALL THE DETAILS:

    Where: Reports --> Scorecard Groups --> Corporate Scorecard/Alternative Scorecard Groups. e.g. https://www.screencast.com/t/hN8g2hDm

https://help.wovex.com/support/solutions/articles/14000068245-corporate-scorecard-groups-report-
https://help.wovex.com/support/solutions/articles/14000068246-alternative-scorecard-groups-report-

The first allows you to see for a Scorecard (the top-level) all the buckets rolled up into and also the contributing Benefit Measures (e.g. all those linked in Step 2 above).

You can narrow this down by choosing the Models to see the data for.   (Select all/some Models).

Select the data type you want to see e.g. 'Main Data' to see the Forecasts etc. of all the Benefit Measures.

Format: A line graph for each Benefit Measure, then the 'bucket' measure after these.

Note: The bucket measure is frequently shown in daily intervals. This allows multiple Benefit Measures with different Measurement Frequences to be brought together.

See the end of this article for if you have more complex needs.

    5.2. SUMMARIES:

    Where: Reports --> Scorecard Groups --> Measures Linked to a Scorecard . e.g. https://www.screencast.com/t/S9hYw0EQhs3n

https://help.wovex.com/support/solutions/articles/14000068247-measures-linked-to-a-scorecard-report-

The second type of report shows a summary of each 'bucket' in the Scorecard and the contribution from each Benefit Measure.

This report allows you to see information on the Corporate Scorecard, Alternative Scorecard or both.

Choose where the report should start from e.g. the high-level Scorecard Measure or lower-level bucket.

Select the data type you want to see e.g. 'Main Data' to see the Forecasts etc. of all the Benefit Measures.

Select the type of graph e.g. pyramid, 3D-pie etc.

Have More Complex Needs?

An alternative to Scorecards is to create a Scorecard model in Wovex. The Benefit Measures created on that can take values from other models using formulas.
