An Outcome is something that is of value to a person or Enterprise that contributes to their Strategic Objectives. Outcomes are the things that the organisation wants to be able to track with Measures to ensure that value is increased

The WHY of the programme, rather than the What or the How.

Realizing one Outcome often contributes to additional Outcomes being realized, shown by the links on your map. For example if you see an ‘increase in staff skills’ you expect this in turn to contribute (along with other factors) to ‘an increase in speed of customer service’. Outcomes are linked to show this contribution to one another, creating a visual representation of the ‘flow of value’.
