Benefits represent good or helpful results or effects of change.

They can be considered 'positive' outcomes, perceived as an advantage by one or more

stakeholders.

(Dis-Benefits are negative outcomes of a change perceived as a disadvantage by one or more stakeholders.)

Achieving a Benefit will contribute to a Goal and Objectives being met.

A Benefit can have many Measures

These are sometimes referred to as Outcomes.


In Wovex maps we differentiate between Supporting Outcomes that are directly contributed to by Initiatives and Benefits that are contributed to in turn. There may be only one or several layers of outcomes that you want to define in a map.


In the Wovex platform all Benefits whether they are supporting or end-benefits are Benefit Objects, even if you want to differentiate them in the map they act the same with the same field in the system otherw.


Benefits can be created and edited from the Benefits Hub in the Wovex cloud environment.


The realisation of one Benefit often contributes to additional Benefits being realised, shown by the links on your map. For example, if you see an ‘increase in staff skills’ you expect this, in turn, to contribute (along with other factors) to ‘an increase in speed of customer service’. Benefits are linked to show this contribution to one another, creating a visual representation of the ‘flow of value’.
